Under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 all public authorities have a duty to maintain a Publication Scheme, outlining what information they publish, how it is made available, and whether this information will be available free of charge or on payment.
The purpose of a publication scheme is to make sure a significant amount of information is available without the need for a specific request. Schemes are intended to encourage organisations to publish more information pro–actively and to develop a greater culture of openness.
Publications include many different formats, such as information on our website, paper and electronic documents, printed booklets and leaflets, audio and video.
The scheme is not generally retrospective. This means that information will not necessarily be available indefinitely and will be removed when the information is no longer current. Archived material which is no longer available through the scheme may be requested from the Records Manager – see details below.
Information about the different formats which are available and how to get them is included in the scheme, along with details of any additional charges that might apply. We reserve the right to charge for the production of multiple paper copies of documents, which are otherwise free of charge.
You will find that most of the information contained in the scheme is free to download from our website, although you may have to pay any charges made by your Internet Service Provider, personal printing costs, etc.
A copy of this scheme is available in print form and can be provided in alternative formats such as Braille, large print, disc, audio cassette and minority languages to meet the needs of those who are not fluent in English.

Equality statement

The Housing Executive has considered its statutory equality obligations for the Publication Scheme under Section 75 of The Northern Ireland Act 1998.  The Equality Commission’s screening criteria have been applied to the Publication Scheme and have indicated that there is no evidence of significant implications on the equality of opportunity or good relations duties within the terms of Section 75 of the Act. There is therefore no requirement to carry out an equality impact assessment on the Publication Scheme.
