    Report on rural progress launched in Annaclone

    ‘Rural Review,’ the annual progress report on the implementation of our Rural Action Plan, was launched today by the Permanent Secretary, Department for Social Development, Will Haire.     Lurgan's best gardens in bloom

    The Housing Executive’s Lurgan Office has announced the winners of this year’s Best Kept Garden competition which was organised in conjunction with the District Housing Community Network (HCN). As well as prizes for individual gardens there was a prize for Best Kept Housing Area which was won this year by Drumgor Heights.

    Our Rural Forum elects its Chair and Vice Chair

    Patricia McQuillan has been elected as the new Chair of the Rural Resident’s Forum.   The forum, which is administered by the Rural Community Network, was commissioned to give Rural Dwellers a voice in the forming of housing policies and initiatives where they directly affect rural communities.  Henry Phillips was elected as Vice Chair by the members.

    Landlord registration extended across Northern Ireland

    Where three or more people from different families live together, the house or flat is known as a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO). The scheme which enforces the registration of HMOs is managed by us and has now been extended across Northern Ireland. This means that all HMOs are now required to be registered by their landlords or their letting agents by a specific date.
