The Housing Executive

Councillor Jim Speers has been involved in local politics since 1977 and served as Mayor of Armagh City & District Council from 1996 to 1997. He is a member of the Northern Ireland Housing Council and was Chairman from 1991 to 2005. He has a long-standing interest in social housing, economic development and community regeneration.

Jim represents Armagh City & District Council on a number of other bodies including the Armagh Economic Development Group. He was awarded an MBE in 2000 in recognition of his services in the field of politics and public life and was Mayor of Armagh City & District Council from 2010 – 2011.
