The Housing Executive

John McPeake was appointed Chief Executive in September 2011. After a primary degree in geography John completed his masters in Planning at Queens University and later a PhD in Urban Economics at Glasgow University.

He joined our Corporate Planning department in 1982 as a Graduate Trainee. He has held various posts in the organisation including Senior Economist, Head of Research and two different Assistant Director posts in Housing and Planning and our Development Divisions.

He was appointed Director of Design and Property Services in 2002. John is also a visiting Fellow at the University of Ulster and a part-time lecturer at Queen’s University, Belfast.

In his spare time John is a keen sailor and is involved with the Integrated Education movement in Northern Ireland.
