Anyone on the waiting list can apply for one of these properties
Castleview
We are now advertising certain properties that are available to let in areas where housing need has been met. You can register an interest in the properties and the subsequent allocations will be based on a Choice Based Lettings (CBL) Scheme. This is a new way of letting housing and it gives applicants more choice about where they would like to live.

Who can join the scheme?

Anyone who has already been accepted onto the waiting list can take part in the scheme. You will need to know your housing application reference number in order to express an interest on any of the properties that are advertised.
If you are not already registered on the waiting list, you will need to apply. The quickest way to do this is by phoning 03448 920 900. Your basic details will be recorded and a telephone appointment arranged to assess your request for housing. This assessment will determine if you are entitled to be registered on the waiting list.

Who cannot join the scheme?

If we receive evidence to suggest that you or a member of your household has a history of unacceptable behaviour you will not be eligible. Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:
  • noise nuisance
  • neighbour harassment
  • hate crime
  • relevant convictions that could affect the stability of a community and make you unsuitable to be a tenant
There are also some people from abroad who by law cannot be allocated a Housing Executive property, but if this is the case we will offer advice on other housing options.
We will write to you if we decide to deny you access to the waiting list, giving you the reasons for our decision.

How do I register my interest in an available property?

Available properties are advertised on this website.
The property adverts tell you the location of the property, the number of bedrooms, the weekly rent and other features of the property.
Some properties will be advertised whilst they are undergoing repairs. You may be asked to view the property before repairs are completed.
You should think carefully before registering an interest, to make sure that the property is right for you i.e. the type of property and location are what you are looking for and that it meets the needs of all your family members. This is because we do not want you to waste your time in viewing properties that are not ideally suited to you.
The advert may state the type of household that will be considered, such as those that meet a specific age requirement.
In order to register an interest for a specific property online, email the address given on the advert. Please include:
  • The address of the property you are interested in
  • Your name, address and telephone number
  • Your Housing Application Reference Number. You'll find this number at the top of any letters you received from us about your housing application.

Where are properties currently available?

We are currently piloting this sceme in five areas - Banbridge, Ballycastle, East Belfast, Downpatrick and Limavady. There are currently properties available in:
Click on the links to see all the available properties in these areas. When you have registered an interest in a vacancy you may receive a telephone call from the local office to discuss your request.

What if two or more people express an interest in the same property?

If more than one person registers an interest in a property then the relevant applicant with the highest points will be offered the property.
