HMO Grants bring shared properties up to standard
HMO fire regulations
The discretionary Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) grant was introduced to bring a house in multiple occupation up to HMO standards for the number of people living in it, and to make it fit for human habitation. However, the grant is restricted to properties within specified regeneration areas.  At present all regeneration areas are closed to new applications and therefore the HMO grant is not currently available.
