We work with DARD to promote rural regeneration
The village of Benburb in Tyrone
Consultation showed that rural communities see housing as a rural development issue with calls for more joined up working.

Challenge

Linking with others to highlight housing as a rural development issue (particularly with DARD) and to work in partnership to contribute to any broader rural regeneration initiatives

Actions

  • Promote (with DARD) the need for Integrated Rural Regeneration Strategy targeting areas in most need
  • Support DARD’s proposed Village Renewal approach
  • Explore options for involvement in Rural Development Programme
  • Build links with RPA structures to ensure that rural housing highlighted considered in new community planning and  rural development roles
