Strategy review

We are currently reviewing the grants strategy. The new strategy will emphasize:

• The growth in importance of Disabled Facilities grants

• A shift in emphasis from unfit housing to the Decent Homes Standard

• A continuing emphasis on geographical targeting in support of wider regeneration activities.

Modernising services

Work is currently underway to replace the system with a new Private Sector Management System which will include electronic files, the use of mobile technology, better connectivity to third parties and the use of Case Officers to help applicants through the process.  The completion date is mid 2008.

The Review of Public Administration (RPA)

An Action Plan is in place to identify issues relating to the RPA including staffing issues, office boundaries and issues regarding central services isuch as Group Repair which would not transfer easily.
