As an Investor in People organisation we want our employees have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to do their jobs effectively.
On-the-job training and development
We encourage staff to take advantage of the learning opportunities which occur on the job. We provide new entrants with on-the-job induction and support.
Internal training courses
We provide internal training where we need to inform large numbers of staff on new policies and procedures. We also provide skills based training where staff can learn and practice new skills relevant to their job.
Post Entry Training Facilities (PETF) Scheme
We often sponsor staff to undertake further education, professional programmes, or National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs),
Sponsorship includes payment of course and examination fees, and a book allowance. Day release is normally available, subject to course and service requirements, in addition to time off for study and examinations.
E-learning programmes
We are developing in-house e-learning programmes, particularly in relation to I.T. skills development.
