Rent Deposit Scheme

The SmartMove Rent Bond Guarantee Scheme is run by First Housing Aid in conjunction with the homeless charity ‘Crisis’. It helps single homeless people access permanent housing in the private rented sector. It runs in Derry, Strabane, Limavady and North Belfast

Rent and Deposit Bond Scheme

A common problem facing many homeless people trying to access private rented accommodation is the difficulty in obtaining the necessary finance to fund rent in advance and/ or a deposit.
The Rent and Deposit Bond Scheme has been developed to help homeless people overcome this problem. It provides a written bond to landlords in lieu of rent in advance and/ or a deposit.
The scheme is managed by the Simon Community NI and funded by the Housing Executive.
