Warden Services

What do neighbourhood wardens do?

Throughout our 35 local offices there are approximately 65 neighbourhood wardens

Wardens provide a range of services at estate level which can include:

Environmental management

Wardens make sure that estates are kept free of illegal dumping, graffiti, litter and abandoned vehicles. Wardens also monitor the condition and use of open spaces.

Dealing with anti-social behaviour

Your neighbourhood warden can be the first person you talk to about anti-social behaviour. In circumstances where the nuisance is of a less serious nature, your warden will carry out investigations and interviews and take the necessary action to remedy the situation.

Housing management

Wardens carry out daily inspections of empty properties, provide accompanied viewing to prospective tenants, check for abandoned properties and take repair requests. They can provide advice and assistance on a wide range of housing related matters including home safety, service standards and energy conservation.

Community involvement

Wardens work in partnership with local community groups, particularly to help meet the needs of elderly and vulnerable people. This work can include helping to develop and deliver local initiatives.
