About the Private Sector Housing Benefit Office

The Private Sector Housing Benefit Office processes and pays Housing Benefit to all eligible Private Sector tenants within Belfast. We manage around 15,000 Housing Benefit claims through our teams for North, South, West and East Belfast.

Our customers include:

• Tenants in privately rented accommodation,
• Housing association tenants,
• Those purchasing their home through Co-Ownership (rent & rate element only),
• Those living in voluntary sector properties and
• Non-owner occupiers who pay of rates only for the property they occupy.

We are also committed to work in partnership and provide a service to all landlords within these sectors.
