Our Social Housing Development Programme delivers 1,410 starts

Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has released the 2011/12 out turn figures for new build social and affordable homes.
2,053 new home starts have been delivered in 2011/12 and of these 1,410 were new social housing units managed through our Social Housing Development Progamme (SHDP). 767 disabled adaptations were also started.
In addition, almost 20,000 maintenance schemes worth £65million have begun, the highest number since 2005/6.
Total maintenance based on estimates pending finalised figures are:
- External Cyclical Maintenance/Double Glazing/ Special Revenue (work to multi storeys) – 9,011 schemes - £16,936,000
- Heating – 5,926 schemes - £31,483,000
- Kitchens – 4,314 schemes - £16,768,000
