Amendments to the HMO registration scheme

Did you know that all Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) must be registered with the Housing Executive?
In order to make sure that safety standards are adhered to, we ask landlords to register properties which are being rented out to multiple occupants.
We now intend to submit an amended statutory registration scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation to the Department for Social Development for approval.
The proposed amendment is to make clear provision for payment of the registration fees on the first registration of relevant houses, or on renewal of registration. You can download the amended scheme from the link below.
