The Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland, has announced a temporary appointment to the position of Acting Chairman of the Board of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
Ms Anne Henderson currently holds the position of Vice Chairman and has agreed to take on the role of Acting Chairman until a replacement is appointed through the public appointment process by 4 November 2012 at the latest.
A public appointment process is already underway to fill the positions of both Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board by 4 November 2012. However, following the recent announcement of Brian Rowntree’s resignation as the Chairman of the Board, Minister Nelson McCausland has decided to appoint an Acting Chairman until the public appointment process is complete.
The Board is responsible for the efficient, effective and economic delivery of the Housing Executive's services. It determines policies within its overall aims and objectives and makes decisions on operational and organisational strategies. The Acting Chairman reports to the Minister for Social Development on the organisation's achievement of its objectives and targets.
