Two major new contracts will see improvements made to 436 homes in Antrim Borough.
Eighty one properties in Toome and Randalstown will get new kitchens, while 355 homes in Antrim town will benefit from external maintenance work.
The new kitchens will include electrical and plumbing upgrades to cater for modern appliances, as well as new units, work surfaces and tiles. Tenants will be able to select finishes from a range of options.
The second contract will focus on the Newpark, Steeple, Rathenraw, Dublin Road and Moylena housing areas in Antrim town. This £1.06m scheme will include replacing defective window frames with double glazed units, servicing and repairing others. We will also take the opportunity to replace any defective external doors and carry out necessary repairs to roofs, chimneys, fencing and paths as well as repainting the properties.
This work protects the external fabric of individual tenants’ homes and in doing so gives an overall facelift to the areas.
Our contractor for both schemes is Dixons Ltd, and their staff, together with District Office will keep in touch with tenants as work progresses so that they are fully aware of plans for their homes. As always, it is our aim to ensure that the work is carried out to the highest standards, to meet the expectations of our customers.
These schemes, coming just weeks after the start of a £0.5m contract to install new heating systems in 105 Townparks North, South and Dublin Road homes, demonstrate our commitment to our tenants and to the Antrim Borough.
