New Housing Executive Chair and Vice-chair appointed

Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland MLA, today announced the appointment from 5th November 2012 of Donald Hoodless as Chairman and Professor Peter Roberts as Vice-Chairman to the Board of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
Announcing the appointments the Minister said, “I welcome the appointment of Mr Hoodless and Professor Roberts at this time. I believe they both have demonstrated the necessary skills and experience to take the Housing Executive through a period of significant change, as I consider the future service delivery model to be put in place to ensure we have a sustainable housing system fit for the future.”
Mr Hoodless is a former Chief Executive of Circle 33 Housing Trust and Notting Hill Housing Trust and former Chair of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Skills for Care. He will bring considerable leadership skills at a time of significant change for the Housing Executive, combined with strong expertise in all areas of housing strategy and strong communication skills. Mr Hoodless does not hold any public appointments and has not undertaken any political activity in the last five years.
Professor Roberts is the Chair of First Ark group, a Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster and Professor Emeritus at the University of Leeds. He has a vast array of housing and regeneration experience and will bring sound analytical skills and strong experience relevant to the work of the Housing Executive. Professor Roberts is a Non –Executive Director of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. He has not undertaken any political activity in the last five years.
