The Department for Social Development has published a new set of guidelines for service providers on the Supporting People Programme.
Supporting People funds a range of housing related support services for vulnerable people to improve their quality of life and attain independence. These services can be provided in their own homes or in hostels, sheltered housing or other specialised supported housing. In Northern Ireland the programme is administered by the Housing Executive.
The new guidelines clarify the position on eligible and ineligible costs and give guidance on restricted reserves. They have been developed as a response to one of the recommendations of the DSD's evaluatioon of the Housing Executive's administration of the fund.
The guidelines are now available to download.
This guidance is effective immediately and replaces DSD Supporting People guidance issued in 2003
