74 Housing Executive tenants in Annaghmore, Keady and Armagh are currently receiving kitchen makeovers courtesy of a £370,000 scheme.
Acting Armagh District Manager, Owen McDonnell said, “We are committed to providing our tenants with comfortable homes that are able to cater for all aspects of modern day living.  We believe that the provision of high quality new kitchens is an excellent way of achieving this. We are also working closely with the contractor to ensure that the service provided before, during and after installation is of the highest quality.”
Bann Ltd Operations Director Anne Fox said “Bann Ltd is committed to achieving high quality workmanship and high levels of customer satisfaction. We are working in partnership with the Housing Executive and individual residents regarding the details of work and when completed we carry out customer satisfaction surveys to assess and monitor our performance.”
Margaret Gillespie is one of the tenants to have already benefitted from the scheme and were delighted to have a new kitchen at the heart of their home. “It was great to be able to pick my own worktops and units." she said. "Given the work being done I was expecting a lot of upheaval but the workmen took great care and kept the disruption to a minimum.”
The work includes the upgrading of electrical and plumbing installations including the provision of a new cooker hood and extra sockets for appliances like washing machines and tumble dryers. New floor covering was also provided and mains-wired smoke alarms fitted in homes that don’t already have one.
