Over 100 Housing Executive tenants living in the Roden Street area of West Belfast are getting new kitchens in a scheme costing £420,000.
The 102 properties, which are a mixture of houses, flats and maisonettes we built between 1977 and 1995 and have been upgraded on a regular basis.  As part of the current scheme tenants will be able to select their new kitchen units, worktop and tiles from a range of options and kitchen layouts will be improved, where necessary, to accommodate modern day appliances.  The look will be completed with a new extractor fan and flooring and we will also take the opportunity to install or upgrade smoke and heat detectors as necessary.
Nicola Pyper was one of the first residents to get a new kitchen and said, “I’m over the moon with my new kitchen, the colours are exactly what I wanted and the improved layout not only made the kitchen bigger but means that all my kitchen gadgets fit in nice and neatly. I would also like to say thank you to the Housing Executive and the workmen who did a fantastic job.”
The work will be carried out on a phased basis to 102 properties at the following locations:
  • Arundel Walk
  • Grosvenor Court and Road
  • Roden Pass, Square and Street
  • Selby Court and Walk
