The Met Office has issued an amber warning over high winds with gusts of up to 90mph which are expected across Northern Ireland today.
A number of power lines have fallen causing some disruption to electricity supplies and many roads are blocked by fallen trees. Some property has also been damaged.
Any of our tenants who lose tiles from their roof as a result of the storms should call us on 03448920901 or report the problem online
There will be roofing felt under the tiles which should prevent water coming into the house. However, if you do find that water is coming in, check whether the water is coming into contact with any electrical fittings. If this has happened, you should turn off the electricity supply in your meter cupboard immediately. Report the repair to us and we will send out an electrician.
Please bear in mind that while we will try to carry out repairs as quickly as possible, working on roofs in stormy weather is dangerous and it may be 24hrs or more before we can safely allow roofers to start work.
If you discover that the roof is leaking, put a bucket under the leak with a plastic sheet underneath to protect the surrounding area.
