If you damage your oil tank by tipping it you may be liable for the repair bill
Oil tank
Following some recent incidents involving our tenants tipping their oil tanks we would like to warn people about the damage this can cause.
We have seen an increase in our tenants tipping their oil tanks when they’re nearly empty in order to increase the flow of oil to their central heating system. We have repeatedly warned our tenants of the potential harm this can cause.  It not only damages the tank and the pipes but dirt disturbed from the bottom of the tank can block the pipes, which can then affect the oil burner.
We would like to remind tenants that these costly repairs eat into our budgets and affect our ability to carry out other much needed work. Therefore tenants found to be responsible for damage could be liable for the repair bill.
