Over 200 Housing Executive tenants living in the Suffolk area of West Belfast are getting brand new uPVC windows in a scheme costing almost £500,000.
The 216 homes are a mixture of houses and flats built between 1951 and 1967. We pride ourselves on maintaining our properties to the highest standards possible and to this end regular maintenance and improvement works have been undertaken on homes in the Suffolk area, including the provision of new kitchens last year.
The windows being replaced in this scheme had come to the end of their useful life and by replacing them now tenants should benefit from greater energy efficiency, noise reduction as well as lower heating costs.
PK Murphy will be carrying out the work on our behalf and Eunan McCourt, their Customer Services Manager said, “We are delighted to be working with the Housing Executive on this scheme. As with all our projects we are putting customer service first and will work closely with each tenant to ensure that the works to their home are completed with the minimum possible disruption.”
A delighted Joey Corso was one of the first tenants to benefit from the scheme and said, “The new windows couldn’t have come at a better time, especially being winter. To be honest it wasn’t as much hassle getting them in as I thought it would be and hopefully as well as being quieter and looking a lot better they’ll help keep my heating bills down as well!”
The work will be carried out on a phased basis to 216 homes in the following areas:
- Blacks Road
- Carnanmore Gardens and Park
- Donegore Gardens
- Erris Grove
- Kells Avenue
- Oranmore Drive
- Ringford Crescent and Park
- Suffolk Road
- Tildarg Avenue
