We’ve launched our Community Grant Scheme launched in South Area
Applications are now open to all constituted resident and community groups, based or working in areas covered by South Area office area – Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan Craigavon and Portadown.
Funding is available for projects which encourage health and wellbeing, environmental improvement, intergenerational or community safety initiatives at a local level.  We want to promote new initiatives that enhance the welfare of tenants and residents within its estates.
A total of £20,000 funding is available, and groups may apply for a grant of up to £5,000.  We want:
Tenants and residents to participate in their estates/communities to develop initiatives around volunteering and social enterprise;
Tenants/residents to develop their skills and broaden their experience by working alongside statutory agencies within their local areas;
To improve tenants/residents physical & mental health and wellbeing.
The closing date for applications is 4.00pm, Friday 1st June 2018.
South Area Manager, John McCartan, said:
“Community grants are available to help local community groups and residents promote initiatives that benefit their communities.
"I’ve seen how a small amount of money can make a significant difference, and I would encourage residents’ associations and community groups to get in touch.”
If you live in Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan, Craigavon or Portadown and think your project will enhance or improve your local community, contact your local Housing Executive office for an application form and guidelines on how to apply (telephone 03448 920 900).
All completed forms should be addressed to John McCartan, Area Manager, and be received in the Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan or Portadown local offices by 4.00pm on Friday, 1st June 2018.
