Sally Russell from East Belfast is the Belfast winner of our energy competition, advertised in this year’s edition of tenant magazine Housing News.
Laurence Denyer, the housing officer for the area presented Sally with a cheque for £100 towards her heating costs.
She had this to say: “I was delighted when I heard I had won and so were my family and friends. To be honest I wasn’t even going to enter the completion as you always think someone else will win.  The £100 will definitely help with my heating costs, particularly as the weather is very cold at the moment.”
Carole Johnston, our South and East Belfast Area Manager added: “The Housing News magazine is produced each year to tell our customers about how we performed in providing housing services and about various initiatives within their area. This year it also included useful articles about how to budget for heating costs and how to prevent burst pipes in cold weather.
"As the home energy conservation authority for Northern Ireland I was pleased to see that there was a good response to the energy competition and even better that the Belfast winner came from the South and East Belfast area.”
