Carnagat Community Association recently ran a Community Safety Event for the local community.
Residents were invited to the community house to find out more about improving their road safety, remaining safe personally and how to stay safe while surfing the internet.
Staff from our local office in Newry were also delighted to be there. Translink also attended bringing with them their purpose built safety bus to help illustrate the dangers and consequences of not acting responsibly on the road. Community Restorative Justice (CRJ) was also there offering information and advice on community safety matters aimed at both children and adults.
Eileen Grant, from Newry Housing, was pleased to attend commenting: “This was such a worthwhile event and I believe it has benefitted everyone who was able to attend. The Housing Executive is delighted to invited to participate in such events, which brings together the local community to help inform and empower.”
