The 400,000 bulbs will bring South Antrim spectacularly into bloom

Housing estates across the South Antrim area are set to bloom in spectacular colour this Spring as we plant 400,000 bulbs.
The Townspark Estates, North and South, and the Glenville and Abbeyglen estates in Newtownabbey have been at the centre of an environmental makeover to the tune of £120,000.
Tree lined routes, new shrubs as well as a sea of giant crocus and daffodils will greet residents and visitors on the four estates.
The landscaping scheme also includes the removal of existing planted areas and the laying of formal grass. Existing shrubs which have become woody due to age, have died or have been vandalised will be replaced with new shrubs. The main routes into the estates will also be planted with almost 200 trees.
But the jewel in the crown of the project is the planting of 256,000 giant crocus bulbs in the Glenville and Abbeyglen estates. Planting has just been completed by our Grounds maintenance team.
That will be followed in September with the planting of 125,000 daffodil bulbs in the Townpark estates in Antrim.
