MACS Oscar awards
The Housing Executive’s Rosemary Owens has praised the inspiration of young people and staff at the charity, MACS.
Rosemary, part of our Supporting People team, was speaking as she recently presented the awards at the charity’s annual OSCARs awards in the Millbrook Lodge in Ballynahinch.
MACS is a dedicated service helping young people, aged 16-25 year olds, who have not had a fair deal.  They provide mentoring, floating support and housing advice.
At the glittering event, part funded by Supporting People, entertainment was provided by David Meade as well as young people singing, dancing and rapping as they recounted their amazing journeys. The ceremony was topped off with a performance from the MACS choir.
Rosemary Owens said: “I was delighted to be there representing the Housing Executive. The young people and staff who received the awards are truly inspirational and are credit to the integrated service provision from MACS.”
