Anyone already on the social housing waiting list can register interest in the specific home advertised

We are trialling a scheme where available homes in a number of Belfast areas will be advertised weekly online at Property News - register your interest now.
Anyone who is already on the Waiting List can register their interest in the specific homes advertised, as Belfast Regional Manager, Ian McCrickard, explains:
“Instead of the traditional method of making a direct offer, for this trial scheme we will only make an offer from the list of applicants who register their interest in the home advertised. We will use the rules of the Housing Selection Scheme to decide who gets the home from this list. This means that to be considered you must respond to the advertisement for the home you are interested in.”
“Locations for the trial scheme have been selected because there are normally available homes, and we hope that advertising them will give people on the Waiting List more choice and help us to let the homes faster to people who need them”.
At the moment the scheme is limited to Glenrosa Link and Greenmount Place in Tigers Bay, Cranbrook Gardens and Farringdon Gardens in Ardoyne, Lower Shankill as well as the Albertbridge and Newtownards Roads, however, this might be expanded in the near future.
Available homes are advertised online at www.propertynews.com/nihe. Anyone who has difficulty getting online or who is not already assessed and on the Waiting List should call 03448 920 900 or call into the local office.
