Boiler Replacement Scheme
We are urging home owners to apply now for assistance to replace their boiler through the Boiler Replacement Scheme.
Administered by the Housing Executive, DSD’s scheme will finish at the end of March 2015.
The DSD’s Boiler Replacement scheme has been very successful, helping over 15,800 homeowners  replace inefficient boilers and providing those households with increased fuel efficiency.
The scheme, however, will end on 31 March 2015. We would urge anyone who thinks they may be eligible to apply by the end of December 2014 to ensure the work is completed by 31 March.
Across Northern Ireland over 15,800 homeowners have benefitted. The scheme offers owner occupiers a grant of up to £1,000 to replace inefficient boilers and is available to those who earn less than £40,000 a year with an inefficient boiler of at least 15 years and is dependent on total gross income.
Replacing an old inefficient boiler with a new condensing boiler can, in an average three bedroom semi-detached house, see potential savings of between £300 to £350 per year. In these difficult financial times, savings such as this can make a real difference to the lives of those who the scheme is targeted at.
Homeowners who think they are eligible should contact us on 03448 920 900 or register by email at energyefficiency.psis@nihe.gov.uk

The scheme was funded initially by the Northern Ireland Executive with additional part financing secured from the European Regional Development Fund under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
