Community Christmas Fair

The local people from Glenbank, Ligoniel and Ballysillan came out to support the Christmas Fair.
The Community Evening at Glenbank Community Centre is in its second year. The evening, which was supported by us, proved an enjoyable one with carols around the Christmas tree and craft stalls with lots to offer. The night was building on last year’s success and aimed to enhance cross community relations, the community’s festive spirit and support local craft traders.
Our Areas at Risk Co-ordinator, Dave Elliott, commented:
“There was a terrific festive spirit generated by everyone at the event. The Housing Executive was pleased to support the Christmas Fair through the ‘Areas at Risk’ initiative. It brought so many people from across the area together and I commend those involved in organising it.”
Lydia Miskimmin of Glenbank Community Association, said:
“The Christmas Fair was a lovely opportunity to extend the hand of friendship across the community and generations. We were delighted so many came along to support us. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Housing Executive’s Cohesion team for their support.”
The evening had something for all the family, in addition to the carols there was music to entertain and a chance to browse for that perfect gift. Around 250 people came along and joined in welcoming the Christmas season.
