Double glazing in West Belfast
Our tenants in the Andersonstown area of West Belfast are benefitting from new double glazing this winter, making their homes much warmer.
The scheme, costing over £253,000, has been ongoing since early October 2014 and approximately 177 homes will have new double glazing throughout their home.
Paddy Kelly, West Belfast Housing Services Manager, is very pleased with the high standard of work carried out by the contractor, PK Murphy, and said:
“This is a boost for Andersonstown residents, I am delighted that we have been able to progress this scheme. Over the years homes in the West of the City have been upgraded and maintained regularly, and in this contract the single glazed windows that have now reached the end of their useful life are being replaced with uPVC double glazed units. By replacing them now tenants will benefit from greater energy efficiency, noise reduction, warmer homes, and lower heating costs in their homes.”
Ann Blake, a tenant from Rossnareen Court, was happy with her new windows, saying:
“I am really pleased with my new windows and I am looking forward to a warmer home this winter.”
The West of the City has 3 double glazing schemes still in progress which, when completed, mean that all our homes in West Belfast will be double glazed.
