Demolition work in Fortwilliam
Demolition is underway in Fortwilliam in North Belfast to deliver new social homes for the area.
We are currently clearing the site at 28-54 Fortwilliam Parade. The demolition of the current properties will make way for eight two bedroom homes and one wheelchair bungalow.
The support and patience of local people with the redevelopment has been appreciated by our local team after incidents at the site by so called ‘brick bandits’ during phase one last year.
North Belfast Area Manager, Malachy McKinney, is pleased with the progress to date explaining:
“The site in Fortwilliam is bringing much needed new homes to the area. Our team is pleased with the progress of phase two which is running on schedule. Thankfully we have not experienced the same challenges during this demolition as with phase one.
“On behalf of the team I’d like to thank local people for their patience with this work and acknowledge their ongoing support for our work in the area.”
The first phase of the area’s redevelopment was completed last year with 22 new homes delivered by our housing association partner, Choice.
