Good news for Portadown as 66 Housing Executive tenant’s homes received brand new kitchens.
At a cost of nearly £333,000, our homes in the Fitzroy and Ulsterville area have benefitted from this makeover.
Prior to work starting every tenant had a one to one consultation so they could have an input into what finishes they would like.  This consultation was well received and feedback on the kitchens has been positive.  All of the kitchens scheduled for replacement have been completed.  The work was carried out in partnership with Bann Ltd.
Welcoming this investment, Denise McNally, the Housing Executive’s Area Manager said:
“This is more great news for the area and I am delighted with the level of input our tenants were able to give.  They were able to select their own units, worktops and tiles so they are getting the kitchen they really want.
“This investment is building on the Housing Executive’s continued commitment to maintain and improve our homes.  Within the area we are delighted to have been bringing even more improvements to our tenants including, where need, double-glazing and more energy efficient heating systems.”
Mr Atkinson, who is delighted with his new kitchen, has the final word:
“It was great to be offered the opportunity to have a new kitchen, it’s made a real difference and I’m enjoying the cooking.  I was so pleased to be able to pick the new look and the workmen were terrific, in and out very quickly with the minimum of fuss and mess.”
