Cohesion team
This week is Community Relations and Cultural Awareness Week 2015.
The vision of the Housing Executive is one in which housing plays its part in creating a peaceful, inclusive, prosperous and fair society.
Our Community Cohesion team’s work is aimed at building better relations, cohesive communities and neighbourhoods that are safe and welcoming to all. This work takes place all year round but Community Relations and Cultural Awareness Week is an opportunity for us to celebrate that work and to celebrate diversity.
That’s why, this week, we will introduce you to the team as well as highlighting and celebrating the pioneering and award-winning work of the team and showcase the many excellent community-led good relations projects the organisation supports.
Leading our Community Cohesion team is Jennifer Hawthorne, Head of Communities for the Housing Executive, with Deirdre Crawford (second from left), the Neighbourhood and Cohesion Manager. They are ably supported by Christine Boyle, Administrative Support and Laureen McFaul, Finance Support.
Our Good Relations Officers (GROs) are Eddie Breslin, GRO for West and Causeway; John Read, GRO for East area and South Antrim; Michelle Hazlett, GRO for South area; Christine Davis, GRO for Belfast, Lisburn and Castlereagh and Assistant Neighbourhood and Cohesion Manager and Marilyn Giboney, GRO for South and mid Ulster.
Also in the team is Gail Green, Interface Officer; Dave Elliott, Areas at Risk Co-Ordinator and Linda Hutchinson, Race Relations Officer.
