The Apex HA development at Church Bay has delivered ten new family homes on Rathlin Island.
The Housing Executive is delighted that the partnership with housing associations has delivered 2,013 new starts in 2014/15, as announced by the Minister for Social Development today.
This figure exceeds the target set by the Programme for Government and represents an investment of £97.4 million in Northern Ireland.
The new start figure represents 150 schemes going onsite across Northern Ireland to provide much needed housing in areas of need identified by the Housing Executive.
In addition housing associations have also exceeded the year’s completion target finishing 1,658 homes for people to move into.
Our Chairman Donald Hoodless said:
“These successful outcomes for 2014/15 are good news for those waiting for a home, the local construction industry and beyond. The new start figure represents 150 schemes going on site to provide new housing in areas of need identified by the Housing Executive. Over 700 more homes were started this year compared to last, which is a real achievement. This is good news for those waiting for a home, the local construction industry and beyond.
“The Northern Ireland Executive’s four-year Programme for Government target was to deliver 6,000 new social homes by 2015. Through the hard work of housing associations and the Housing Executive this has been exceeded reaching a target of 6,100. While the investment has also proved a welcome boost to the local economy.”
