Double delights in Old Mossley

Our tenants in the Old Mossley area of Newtownabbey are looking forward to seeing Spring through their new double glazing and at the same time benefitting from warmer homes.
Work was recently finished to 89 homes in the area, which represents an investment of nearly £137k by the Housing Executive in its stock.
Sharon Crooks, the Area Manager is pleased with the work being carried out by the contractor, Dixons, and said:
“This is a terrific boost for our tenants; I am delighted we have been able to progress this scheme.
“Over the years our homes have been regularly upgraded and maintained and in this contract the single glazed windows which have reached the end of their useful life are being replaced with uPVC double glazed units. With their replacement our tenants will benefit from greater energy efficiency, noise reduction, warmer homes, and lower heating costs in their homes.”
Pictured with one of our tenants, Mrs Wilson, who recently had the glazing installed, is the Housing Executive’s local Housing Officer, Bronagh Spackman, and Assistant Housing Services Manager, Liz Cunningham. The feedback they have received to date reports a high degree of satisfaction from tenants who have had new double-glazing installed.
Mrs Wilson is delighted with her new windows, saying:
“Having the new windows fitted has made my home feel a lot warmer. I can’t praise the men from, Dixons, enough as I felt very much at ease with them in my home. They were clean and tidy, very kind and caring even making sure doors were closed so my dog didn’t escape!”
