Partnership in action with Carnagat Neighbourhood survey

Residents from the Carnagat area of Newry city have been asked to take part in a ‘neighbourhood survey'.
This is as a result of a strategic partnership initiative adopted by Carnagat Area Community Association, the Housing Executive and the Confederation of Community Groups.
Over 350 households have been asked to provide information on family size, health neighbourhood relations, along with views about community safety, transport and community association activities.
Commenting on the survey Paula McGuigan, Chairperson of the Carnagat Area Community Association, said:
“The community association along with staff from the Confederation of Community Groups and the Housing Executive have worked closely on developing the survey to ensure the most appropriate and relevant questions were included. The survey forms were distributed by Housing Executive staff a few days ago and they will collect the completed forms on Monday 8th of August with arranged call backs the following day. We hope local residents will complete the survey forms as the results will be used by the community association to seek much needed resources for the area”.
Mrs McGuigan concluded:
“The results of the survey will be shared at a public meeting in the community house. The community association is indebted to both the Confederation of Community Groups and the Housing Executive for sharing their expertise and resources with this initiative.”
