Killowen's looking good!

Residents of the Killowen area are delighted with the new look to their community garden at the entrance to the estate.
The area has recently been spruced up thanks to an investment from us.The funding helped to erect a fence and plant additional hedging which has created a new backdrop for the community’s entrance feature and improved the overall look of the area.
Declan McAllister from the Housing Executive commented:
“The Housing Executive is committed to making a difference in local communities. Small changes such as this can have a huge impact on people and their interaction with the surrounding environment and neighbours. With the support of our Community Cohesion team we’re helping to foster the vibrant community of Killowen. I am pleased we were able to help.”
Katrina Leonard from Killowen Drive Residents Association said
“The area was being used as a short-cut to the local shop which caused damage to the existing hedge and, in wet weather, mud trails over the grass and paths. The fence and new hedging are terrific additions and have greatly improved the garden and show off the entrance feature. On behalf of our residents’ group I’d like to thank the Housing Executive for supporting our initiative.”
The environmental improvement project is a result of Killowen’s work with us on bric2.
