Our investment in Clarawood continues

Over 100 of our tenants in the Clarawood Estate in East Belfast have been included in a kitchen improvement scheme costing over £500,000.
This scheme complements other work already carried out by us within the last few years. This included the provision of new heating systems and external improvements.
As part of the scheme tenants were able to select their new kitchen units, worktop and tiles from a range of options and, where possible, the kitchen layout was improved to accommodate additional domestic appliances. The look was completed with a new extractor fan and flooring.
Our new East Belfast Assistant District Manager Brian McFaul said, “We believe that consultation is a key element of any successful scheme and worked closely with the community and their representatives in the development of this scheme. On top of that our contractor PK Murphy has appointed a Customer Service Manager who carried out one to one consultation with tenants before work began in their home.
"I am confident that this partnership has paid dividends and ensured that the scheme progressed with minimum disruption for tenants.”
The scheme was also welcomed by the Clarawood Residents’ Association. Their Chairwoman Pat Boyd added, “Over the years the Clarawood Residents’ Association has worked closely with the Housing Executive on a number of initiatives in the area, so we are delighted with this latest news. Not only will the new kitchens go a long way in helping to modernise these homes but they will make a real difference to the every day lives of the residents involved”
Jacqueline Chambers who was one of the residents to get a new kitchen said, “I’m over the moon with my new kitchen, the colours are exactly what I wanted and the improved layout means that all my kitchen gadgets fit in nice and neatly. I would also like to say thank you to the Housing Executive and the workmen who did a fantastic job.”
