Tenants in County Down are having their homes upgraded in the recent bathroom and kitchen replacement scheme, funded by the Housing Executive.

123 properties in the West Winds Estate in Newtownards are having their kitchens and bathrooms transformed, coming to a cost of £1,055,116.00.

Jimmy Menagh, whose kitchen was recently refurbished as part of the scheme, said: “The work was done very quickly and without any real disruption.

“The kitchen is modern and much more spacious than it was before.

“I’m really pleased with the quality of the work and the difference this has made to my home.”

Owen Brady, Housing Executive’s Ards & North Down Area Manager, added: “The new kitchen and bathroom upgrades have been a huge success and have made a great improvement to each of the homes.

“Feedback from our tenants has been very positive and we aim to provide safe and high living standards for each of our tenants and we will continue to look at ways we can improve their homes.”
