Housing Executive scheme sees almost 190 homes fitted with double-glazed windows
Almost 190 homes across Rostrevor, Warrenpoint, Newry, Bessbrook, Newtownhamilton and Crossmaglen have been fitted with brand new, double-glazed windows as part of a major Housing Executive improvement scheme.
Working with M&M Contractors, around £750,000 was invested to install new PVC double-glazing - helping tenants keep their homes warmer and reduce their energy bills.
This was part of an ongoing initiative by the Housing Executive to modernize homes across the region and improve the quality of life for tenants.
As well as benefitting falling energy bills and increased comfort in their home, the new glazing will also make a significant difference in terms of the carbon footprint of the area.
Design of the new windows will also minimize moisture build-up, reducing the risk of mould and damp issues.
Housing Executive Area Manager, Claire Crainey said: “We are delighted that these double-glazed windows have now been fitted.
“The Housing Executive have been long committed to improving the quality of housing for our tenants and initiatives like this one continue to make a significant difference to the lives of our tenants.”
Scott Montgomery from M&M Contractors added: “Installation of double-glazed PVC windows will significantly reduce heat loss, keeping these homes warmer in the upcoming winter months, especially.
“We are pleased to be able to aid in improving people’s living conditions and it is our hope these windows do just that!
