Fundraising efforts from staff at the Housing Executive have helped raise over £8,000 for charity partner Age NI.

Money was raised through the sale of honey from beehives that are installed on the roof of the Housing Executive HQ in Belfast, and as part of an annual Charity Golf Day.

Organised by the Asset Management Team, 72 golfers made up of staff and contractors enjoyed a day of charity golf at The Balmoral Golf Club.

Housing Executive Chair, Nicole Lappin, said:

"We all look forward to ageing well and to supporting those around us to age positively, whether they be our family and friends or those people we support through the many areas of the community that the Housing Executive works within.

“It is therefore extremely gratifying to see so much money being raised by our staff and contractors for a charity that continues to make a positive impact on our older population, here in Northern Ireland.

“I would like to thank the colleagues who were involved in organising this fantastic fundraising activity."

Age NI Chief Executive, Linda Robinson, added:

“On behalf of everyone at Age NI, I would like to say a huge thanks to the Asset Management Team for organising this brilliant fundraising event.

“Your incredible support has already made a significant impact, and we are truly grateful for your dedication.

“The over £8k raised from this year’s charity golf day, and the sale of honey along with the £25k raised from the partnership to date, will help Age NI continue to provide vital services and support for older people throughout Northern Ireland who need it most.

“As we enter the festive season and a time of year that can be even more challenging for older people, your generosity will really help.

“Every single pound raised helps make a difference.

"Thank you once again!”
