Housing Executive invests £2.1m in major thermal improvement scheme
Forty homes in East Belfast have benefitted from extensive thermal improvement works as part of a multi-million pound Housing Executive scheme.
Working with contractor PK Murphy, the Housing Executive invested £2.1m to install new double glazing, replace roofs coverings, doors and add external wall insulation, helping tenants keep their houses warmer and reduce energy bills.
Ten properties also received additional upgrades, including new kitchens, insulated ground floor replacement and a damp proof course.
Ms A McKimm, has lived in her Housing Executive home for 17 years and is delighted with the improvements.
She said: “My house feels so lovely and warm since the works were carried out and everything has been finished to a high standard.
“When replacing my kitchen I was able to choose from a range of options to suit my own individual taste and I’m so happy with the end result.
“The winter ahead is set to be a cosy one!”
Sinéad Thompson, the Housing Executive’s Assistant Area Manager for South & East Belfast, added: “Planned improvement works like these are part of our continued commitment to improving our housing stock.
“We’re really pleased to hear such positive feedback from our tenants following the completion of this scheme.
“A huge thanks also to our contractor PK Murphy for their diligence during the course of these works.”
