Members reappointed to the Housing Executive Board

Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey, MLA, has reappointed Jim McCall and Derek Wilson to the Board of the Housing Executive for a second term from June 1st 2020 for a period of five years, having both served on the Board since June 1st 2015.

Ken Millar has also been reappointed to the organisation’s Board for a third term from June 1st 2020 for a period of six months, or until permanent appointments are made from a forthcoming competition. Ken has served two previous five-year terms since 1 June 2010. 

Jim McCall is a qualified Professional Social Worker and has had long career in a variety of health and social care organisations in Northern Ireland and the UK, including at senior Executive and Board level. Jim was Chief Executive of Ulster Supported Employment and the Managing Director of Four Seasons Health Care in Northern Ireland and Wales. 

He has served on a number of boards and sub-committees including Diabetes UK and NI Water. He is currently a Non-Executive Director for the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, the Board Governors of Belfast Metropolitan College, the Belfast Metropolitan College Trust and a lay member of the NI Care Tribunal. 

Derek Wilson spent almost 40 years working in Financial Services, where he specialised in mortgage lending and leading mortgage businesses for local banks.  He also served as NI Chairman of the UK Finance mortgage committee, formerly the Council of Mortgage Lenders, for 10 years.  

He has served as a board and Audit and Risk Assurance Committee member of the Housing Executive since 2015 and is also a member of the board of Co-ownership.   

Ken Millar is a former senior civil servant with experience in IT development, personnel and financial management, project management and organisational design and development. He previously ran his own consultancy company focusing on organisational reviews and management structures. He has previously held a number of other non-executive appointments in Northern Ireland public bodies.
