The Suffolk Residents association hosted a lively and welcoming Family Fun Day on Sunday, August 24 at Upper Falls Church Hall.
Supported by the Housing Executive with Community Involvement funding of almost £4,000 and Belfast City Council, the event celebrated community spirit, cultural diversity and encouraged residents to ‘Meet your Neighbours’ in a fun and relaxed setting.
With activities including a Sensory Hour, traditional Indian cuisine, BBQ, a toddler zone, and South African drumming.
Lisa Stitt, Area Manager for the Housing Executive said “Events like this are at the heart of what makes a community thrive.
“We all enjoyed the food and activities on offer, but the event was about forging real connections between people. We are proud to support a positive and inclusive initiative.”
Terry Donaghy, from Suffolk Residents Association added “We wanted to create something that welcomed everyone, from toddlers to grandparents – from long-time residents to those new to the area!
“This event celebrated the richness of our community, enjoying good food, sharing and embracing cultures and simply having a great time together.”
