Belfast City Centre FAQs

New social housing is being built within the Belfast city centre area. We’ve put together this FAQs to provide you with more information on this new housing development and why a new ‘Belfast City Centre’ Area of Choice is being created.

The new development is at Dargan House, Loftlines in the Titanic area of Belfast city centre, see map below. This development reflects a new approach to urban living with a focus on more sustainable transport links. The aim is to reduce car dependency, while supporting health well-being and sustainability. Homes will therefore have reduced access to parking within the development, with increased access to alternative transport options.

There will be 81 apartments as part of a larger mixed tenure development, offering:

•    1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes
•    8 wheelchair-accessible 2-bedroom apartments
•    The apartments are in one 9 storey block with shared outdoor space
•    The apartments are expected to be available in late 2025.

Clanmil Housing Association is developing this ‘Housing For All’ shared housing scheme and the estate will be called TITANIC (Clanmil). They will be the landlord for the allocated social housing tenancies in this estate.

The ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme has its origins in the NI Executive Together: Building a United Community Strategy which reflects the Executive’s commitment to improving community relations and continuing the journey towards a more united and shared society.  Good Relations Support will be invested in the 5-mile radius of the shared housing development through a Good Relations Plan.

If you accept an offer of a home within a Shared Housing Scheme, you must sign and comply with a ‘Shared Housing Good Neighbour Agreement’. You can contact Clanmil Housing Association directly for more detailed information about the agreement and its requirements.

This is a new area we’ve created on our waiting list specifically for Belfast city centre housing. Currently, it includes the 81 apartments in the new TITANIC (Clanmil) estate.

More social housing developments may be built within this wider Belfast city centre area in the future.

If you add the Belfast City Centre area to your application we’ll consider you for Dargan House, Loftlines development and all future housing developments within this area.

New applicants and transfers: your Housing Advisor/Housing Officer/Patch Manager will discuss your areas of choice for housing with you. Existing applicants and transfers: If you have received a letter from us, you should follow the instructions in the letter by sending us an email with your name and application number to the office email address provided. If you have not received a letter please contact the office that manages your application or transfer.

If you have just recently applied for social housing you should let your Housing Advisor know that you are interested in living here.
