Young people in Dungannon enjoyed a week of fun-filled activities as part of this year’s Soul Resort youth summer scheme.

Kicking off with a BBQ, the scheme’s programme of events was given a boost thanks to a Community Grant from the Housing Executive.

Andrew Trotter, Secretary at Soul Resort, said: “We are very grateful to the Housing Executive for the funding to provide a range of free events for teenagers in the area.

“Activities ranged from zorb football, games night, a ninja wall and even a rodeo bull.

“Through this project, we hoped to engage young people in building new relationships, improving confidence and wellbeing.

“As the holidays can also be a difficult time for families financially, we wanted our scheme to offer the chance for young people to enjoy our activities free of charge.”

Sharon Crooks, the Housing Executive’s Area Manager for Mid Ulster, added: “We’re proud to support Soul Resort in facilitating this project, which welcomed all teenagers in the area.

“Over the week local young people really enjoyed the varied activities and the success of the project is a real testament to the hard work of all those involved.”
