University of the Third Age in the Mid and East Antrim town was awarded a Cohesion grant of £1, 717 under the reimaging theme.
U3A offers a clear sense of purpose, positive mental and physical well-being and the development of new skills and opportunities for learning.
John Read, Housing Executive Good Relations Officer, Mid and East Antrim said, “We are confident that this signage will deliver clear benefits including highlighting and helping to reduce social isolation and loneliness in the area.
“Those who are no longer in full-time employment are encouraged to attend the U3A community for companionship and renewed learning with no age barriers.
“Positive publicity like this new eye-catching signage is an excellent means of reaching out to hard-to-reach groups and promoting intergenerational opportunities in the area.”
Helen Eagleson, Chair, U3A said, “We are absolutely delighted with the new signage at our premises on Nelson Street, which really captures the welcoming and vibrant spirit of East Antrim U3A.
“On behalf of the committee, I want to thank the Housing Executive for their funding and support, and to acknowledge the creativity of local designer Ricky Morrow, who worked closely with us to bring our vision to life.
“The bright colours and clear design reflect our ethos of ‘Learn, Laugh, Live,’ and we hope it will make our presence more visible in the community, encouraging even more people to come through our doors and get involved in some of our thirty inclusive interest groups.
“We believe this new signage will help us grow and expand our activities.
