Transforming homes, saving energy

Abbey Ring Insulation Scheme Completed in Holywood.
Residents of Abbey Ring, Holywood, are already experiencing the benefits of a major energy conservation initiative recently delivered by the Housing Executive.
Designed to enhance the energy efficiency of homes and reduce carbon emissions and improve the comfort and quality of life for the tenants.
With a focus on retrofitting properties with external pipework and cladding, these upgrades have significantly improved the energy efficiency ratings of each property, reduced annual energy consumption and provided a much-needed boost for tenants amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Beyond energy efficiency, the scheme has transformed the appearance of the properties, whilst ensuring they are more sustainable for the future. Ongoing retrofitting schemes such as this are being carried out throughout Northern Ireland by the Housing Executive, aligning the efforts to reduce carbon emissions and create a more sustainable environment.
Tenant, Alison Cornelius said: “I would like to say that the team of builders and plasterers have been professional and great to deal with. I have had mixed feelings about quality of work in the past, but this team have done their best to ensure great quality and not to inconvenience you as much as possible. I am delighted with all they have done so far.”
Area Manager, Eileen Thompson adds: “Retrofitting homes is vital not only delivering long-lasting benefits for both the community and the planet. We are proud to continue rolling out similar upgrades, ensuring tenants can live comfortably in warm and energy-efficient homes.
“This insulation scheme demonstrates the positive impact that sustainable development can have on local communities, offering hope and practical.”
